The Office of Member Services section of the website is devoted to improving the communications between the volunteers (Officers, Directors, Union Representatives) of NBPC Local 1613 and members.  Sections of the website are (use navigation on left): Bargaining Agreement, Arbitration Index, Filing a Grievance, Member Benefits, Member Meetings, Message Board, Union Forms, and Union Member Rights.

In order for members to receive information from the Union, such as nomination and election notices for union elections, members have to update the address on file.  The quickest and easiest way to update your address is:

  1. Login to the Members Section of the AFGE website.

  2. After you are logged in, click on "My Profile" and edit your home mailing address.

Lead Union Reps, Station Union Reps, and Union members should pass this info along to their fellow members.

You may obtain access to a significant level of union benefits through Local 1613.  Currently, Jim Ashley is the only person authorized by Local 1613 to visit Border Patrol installations throughout the San Diego Sector.  Jim Ashley works for Benefit Architects, which is one of many providers authorized to offer insurance programs in District 12. Click here to see the list of programs authorized in AFGE - District 12.

There are independents who may claim to be an authorized Union benefit provider and do not have the full faith and backing of the union.  These independents are conducting unauthorized business on government property and should be escorted out.  In some cases, it may be a fellow agent conducting the business and you may alternatively report the situation to management.   To verify those programs specifically authorized to offer Union benefits, please visit the following pages:

Click here to visit the AFL/CIO benefits page to learn more about benefits available only to Union members.
